In the 1990s, Dr Sandra Anderson and colleagues at Sydney's Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) began research into how inhaled mannitol can be used to diagnose asthma. This work resulted in the development of two new pharmaceutical products, Aridol® and Bronchitol®.
