Despite the use of lead being reduced in many industries, it is still found in many environments and is known to have adverse effects on human health. This Information Paper explores the potential link between water fluoridation and human health based. The 2016 NHMRC Evidence Evaluation shows that water fluoridation helps to reduce tooth decay in children and adults. There is no reliable evidence that water fluoridation at current Australian levels causes health problems.

Genetic tests are easily purchased by consumers, often over the internet and usually without the involvement of a medical professional.
