To ensure we can make healthy food choices, we need dietary advice based on the best scientific evidence. This Guideline seeks to offer the best advice on dietary patterns that promote optimal health and wellbeing for the generally healthy Australian population.

NHRMC opened a national consultation in 2023 to review the Indigenous Research Excellence Criteria (IREC). This discussion paper was produced to inform the review. It provides information on the IREC and lists the consultation questions.

University of Adelaide's Professor Ian Olver received the 2021 NHMRC Ethics Award in recognition of his significant contribution to Australian health and medical research ethics over the last decade. Purpose The purpose of this statement is to clarify the expectations of the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) with respect to the use of smoke inhalation procedures in rodents in NHMRC-funded research. It can also be used by those involved with, or considering, the use of smoke inhalation procedures in rodents in research funded from other sources.
