The NHMRC Research Integrity and Misconduct Policy clarifies the role and responsibilities of NHMRC Administering Institutions about notifying NHMRC of research integrity matters and describes how NHMRC responds to such matters.
The policy applies to actual or potential breaches of the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, 2018 (the Code) that may have occurred in relation to NHMRC funding (as defined in the policy), including research misconduct and fraud.
The NHMRC Research Integrity and Misconduct Policy came into effect on 1 July 2019 and replaced the previous NHMRC policy on misconduct related to NHMRC funding.
The NHMRC Research Integrity and Misconduct Policy is supported by 3 fact sheets. These can also be downloaded below.
Enquires about the policy can be directed to integrity@nhmrc.gov.au. Concerns about potential breaches of the Code, including research misconduct and fraud, should be directed to the institution at which the research is occurring, in the first instance.
