The twenty second meeting of the National Health and Medical Research Council’s (NHMRC) Dietary Guidelines Expert Committee (Expert Committee) was held in February 2026 by videoconference.

Evidence to inform the Australian Dietary Guidelines

The Expert Committee reviewed and provided feedback on a draft protocol of the evidence synthesis on dietary patterns and depression. 
Members considered evidence maps for the scoping review on older adults, evidence to progress to the Evidence-to-Decision process for older adults and protein, and absolute effects calculations and thresholds for measuring effects.
