The tenth meeting of the National Health and Medical Research Council’s (NHMRC) Dietary Guidelines Expert Committee (Expert Committee) was held in August 2024 by videoconference. The meeting discussed the details of the priority research questions to be progressed to evidence review.

Evidence to inform the Guidelines

The Expert Committee considered where evidence was lacking in relation to priority research questions and whether new systematic and/or scoping reviews could address these evidence gaps. The Expert Committee advised four different reviews be commissioned by NHMRC to fill the highest priority evidence gaps. Members began refining the populations, outcomes and exposures of interest for each priority research question, ahead of finalisation out of session.

Next meeting

The next Expert Committee meeting is scheduled for October 2024.
