The aim of the statement is to provide the general public with information on the assessment and management of cancer clusters. It is intended to support guidelines issues by State and Territory Departments and Cancer Councils.

Process Report
The Statement on Cancer Clusters (the Statement) was developed in response to a request from State and Territory Health Departments. NHMRC convened a meeting of leading cancer experts, biostatisticians and health and medical researchers to review best practice in the management of cancer cluster assessment. The Statement was produced with the assistance of relevant State and Territory experts nominated by the State and Territory Chief Health Officers. The draft Statement on Cancer Clusters was released for public and targeted consultation for a period of 10 weeks. The Statement was finalised following further consultation with State and Territory experts.
