RAOs are requested to advise interested health and medical research, consumer and industry experts that they can nominate themselves to be considered for NHMRC peer review in 2027 via the self-nomination form in Sapphire.

Instructions for the self-nomination form are available on the Sapphire Tutorials webpage under: Researcher > My Assessments > Assessor Self Nominations.

Nominations are now open for the following schemes:
·    Centres of Research Excellence
·    Clinical Trials and Cohort Studies Grants
·    Ideas Grants
·    International Collaborations
·    Investigator Grants
·    NHMRC e-ASIA Joint Research Program Grants
·    Postgraduate Scholarships
·    Partnership Projects
·    Synergy Grants
·    Indigenous Research Excellence Criteria (IREC) Assessor (various grant opportunities)

Further guidance and information are available on NHMRC’s website.

Experts require an active Sapphire account to submit their self-nomination. To register for an account, visit the Sapphire website. NHMRC recommends completing the registration in advance to ensure account activation before the self-nomination deadline.

Individuals should also ensure that their Sapphire profile is complete and up to date when self-nominating — particularly their Broad Research Area, Peer Review Area, Fields of Research, and Research Keywords, where relevant.

Self-nominations must be submitted in Sapphire by Friday 30 October 2026.
