Priority Round 2 is the JPND call for multinational research projects for pathway analysis across neurodegenerative diseases.

NHMRC’s Boosting Dementia Research Grants Scheme Priority Round 2 (PR2) aims to provide assistance to Australian researchers to participate in multinational collaborative research projects that have been selected for funding under the European Union Joint Programme –Neurodegenerative Disease (JPND): Call for Multinational Research Projects for Pathway Analysis across Neurodegenerative Diseases.

JPND is aimed at tackling the challenge of neurodegenerative diseases and coordinating investment into research to find causes, develop cures, and identify appropriate ways to care for those with neurodegenerative diseases. More information about this Call is available from the JPND website.

Under PR2, NHMRC will provide up to $850,000 of funding over a maximum period of three years for Australian-based researchers participating in multinational consortia that have been favourably reviewed by JPND.

Only research with a key focus on ’Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias’ will be funded through PR2. Applying for funding with any other focus under this call will not be supported through this scheme.

To be eligible for PR2 funding, Australian researchers must apply to the JPND as part of a collaborative application.
