Research Help Centre Updates

Research Help Centre – Extended hours

The Research Help Centre will commence extended hours on Tuesday 7 March 2017 for the week leading up to Project Grants close. Further information is available on the NHMRC website.

Canberra Day public holiday

The Canberra Day public holiday is on Monday 13 March. Research Help Centre staff will remain on duty to respond to enquiries on that day, but staffing will be limited. If contacting the Research Help Centre, please email your query to help@nhmrc.gov.au rather than phoning. Staff will respond to queries as soon as possible. Please keep this in mind when finalising Project Grant applications, noting that they are due by 5:00pm AEDT Wednesday, 15 March 2017.

Returning of submitted applications

The Research Help Centre occasionally receives requests to return a submitted application to the CIA/RAO for further editing prior to the close of an application round. NHMRC strongly discourages such requests, particularly in the two days prior to a round close. NHMRC may take up to two working days to return an application to the CIA/RAO following a request.

Once an application is returned, it is the CIA/RAO’s responsibility to ensure the application is certified by the CIA and RAO and properly resubmitted prior to the deadline. There have been instances when user error and insufficient time to complete all processes has led to applications not meeting the application deadline. Due to the large volume of general enquiries, RGMS and Research Help Centre staff cannot guarantee prompt support close to a round close.

Institutional Annual Compliance Report 2016

The Institutional Annual Compliance Report (IACR) for 2016 reporting is now available in RGMS. ALL Administering Institutions are required to submit a report, even if they did not administer NHMRC funds in 2016. The report must be completed in RGMS by 30 April 2017. More information on completing the report is available at: https://www.nhmrc.gov.au/grants-funding-administering-grants/institutional-annual-compliance-report
