NHMRC ME/CFS guidelines: expert committees announced

The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) is developing clinical practice guidelines for myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). This was announced by Minister Butler in June 2024. The guidelines are anticipated to be published in 2028.

The goal of these guidelines is to improve diagnosis, management and care for patients living with ME/CFS. The recommendations will focus on the interactions between patients and general practitioners within primary care and outline appropriate referral pathways.
