Development Grants - Call for Applications for 2008

This is the second round of grants to be funded under the Development Grant Scheme in 2008. Applications open on 5 April and will be advertised in the Tenders Section of the Weekend Australian on Saturday 5 April. Closing date for applications will be 2 June.

By providing funding for research commercialisation at the early proof-of-concept stage, the Scheme supports the development of health or medical research that has commercial potential and may benefit the Australian community.

The Funding Policy and application process documentation will be available from the NHMRC website on 5 April 2008.

Project Grants

NHMRC will commence contacting health and medical researchers to provide independent assessments of Project Grant applications from Monday 14 April 2008.

The Project Grants Scheme is NHMRC's main avenue of support for individuals and small teams of researchers undertaking biomedical, public health and health services research in Australian universities, medical schools, hospitals and other research institutions.

As Project Grant applications are reviewed through a peer review process, NHMRC relies upon the cooperation of the Australian research community.

European Molecular Biology Laboratory Applications

A reminder that applications for the NHMRC-supported Group Leader at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (5 years Europe / 4 years Australia) close on 16 May 2008.
