The National Health and Medical Research Council Act 1992 specifies that NHMRC will issue advice and guidelines on ethics and related issues in the fields of health and human and animal research.

AHEC - Australian Health Ethics Committee

HRECs - Human Research Ethics Committees

Human Research Ethics Committees (HRECs) protect the welfare and rights of participants involved in research. HRECs review research proposals for research that involves humans, monitor the conduct of research and deal with complaints that arise from research.
