Apply for Funding
Prior to submission of an application for Scholarship funding, applicants are to ensure they:
- read all relevant reference material; and
- liaise with their Administering Institution to obtain an Application ID, and identification of any specific requirements that the Institution may have.

The key dates for the 2010 funding round for Scholarships are as follows:
- 4 May 2009 – Applications open
- 31 July 2009 – Applications close

Documentation to Apply for a Scholarship
To apply for a Scholarships please follow the steps outlined below:
- Review the Scholarship Funding Policy, in particular the eligibility requirements;
- Review the Scholarship Peer Review Guidelines for funding commencing in 2009 which provides information on timelines for the process, the responsibilities of review panels and the evaluation process;
- Review the Scholarships Advice and Instructions to Applicants, which provides detailed information on how to answer the questions on the application form;

- Review the Adobe LiveCycle Form User Manual, which contains technical information on IT requirements and useful tips on navigating through the form;
- Download the Scholarships Application Form and complete the application;
In order to fill out the NHMRC’s Scholarship form, users are required to have version 8.1.2 of the Adobe Reader Software installed on their machine. Version 8.1.2. for various operating systems can be downloaded from the Adobe webiste below.
Please note: If you enter extended keyboard characters (for example β) you will be asked to install the extended characters pack which requires administrator rights to your computer for the install to work.
NB1: It is important that Research Administrative Officers (RAO’s) have the version 8.1.2 installed. This will ensure that the potential to view errors in the form by the RAO is reduce if the applicant does use a higher version than the RAO. As long as the RAO has the same version (or higher) than the applicant then the errors should not occur.
NB2: You may need administrator access to your computer for downloading software. If you do not have administrator access, you may need to contact your IT department for assistance.
